Sixth Street Growth

Sixth Street Growth is the grown-up in the room of growth equity — they're not chasing unicorns or betting on crazy TAMs. Sixth Street has invested over $9 billion in more than 70 companies through its Growth franchise since inception. They've got $4.4B in their latest fund and the operational chops to back it up with their 'More than Capital' platform. The Goldman Sachs DNA runs deep here, which means they know how to structure creative deals and aren't afraid of hybrid equity-debt solutions. What's impressive is they're not just growth equity tourists — this is a dedicated platform within a $100B+ multi-strategy firm. The downside? You're dealing with institutional machinery, not scrappy fund managers who will move heaven and earth for your deal. They're methodical, process-heavy, and probably not the fastest check-writers in town. But if you want patient capital from people who've seen every cycle and won't panic at the first sign of trouble, these are your guys.
- —Best for: Later-stage B2B software companies that want institutional-grade capital and operational support
- —Watch out for: Slow decision-making due to large fund bureaucracy and Goldman-style processes
- —Known for: Creative financing structures mixing equity and debt, plus serious operational resources

Michael McGinn (who joined Sixth Street in 2018) serves as Co-Head alongside Bo Stanley. He came from BlackRock and has been leading the Growth platform's expansion and major fundraises.
Robert "Bo" Stanley (who joined in 2011) is the other Co-Head who has been with Sixth Street longer. "Today's macroeconomic environment presents an exceptional opportunity for leadership teams with the right capital, strategy, and partners to go on offense and strategically accelerate their organic and inorganic growth," said Bo Stanley.
Waxman and Sixth Street's founding partner group began developing over 20 years ago while building complementary businesses to invest Goldman's capital in public and private markets across the capital structure. At Goldman, Mr. Waxman founded and led private capital investing franchises in growth capital solutions, direct lending, and alternative energy infrastructure.
